Church websites usually include biographical information on their pastor. Of course, we would like to introduce you to Pastor Ken. But what do we want you to know about him? There is the usual stuff: experience, education, and family.

Pastor Ken has been in pastoral ministry since 1995. His ministry has included two Indian reservations (Northern Cheyenne and Nez Perce), refugee ministry, Korean churches, and urban and rural settings.

Pastor Ken holds advanced degrees in ministry and theology, including two master’s degrees and a doctorate. In addition to pastoral ministry, Ken teaches graduate and undergrad classes through Crown College and is an evaluator for Alliance Leadership Development. In both roles, he trains future pastors. He also serves as a member of the Rules and Bylaws Committee for the Christian & Missionary Alliance.

Pastor Ken has been married to Yong since 1987. They have been together through thick and thin, through good times and bad. Neither is perfect, but both seek to exemplify a godly marriage and provide a loving family for their children and grandchildren.

Perhaps it helps to know about Ken’s background. Pastor Ken grew up in church but rebelled for many years. After years of apathy towards religion and hatred for religious people, he became an avowed agnostic who regularly ridiculed the faith and the faithful. That continued until 1989 when the Lord got hold of him and turned his life around. When people ask why Ken believes, he will answer, “Because I have experienced God’s love and transforming work.”

So, you have read some things about Ken that may be helpful. But what would Pastor Ken want you to know about him?

“God called me long ago. To what did he call me? He called me to preach, teach, and shepherd his people. Over the last few years, God has shown me more depth in my calling. He has called me to show his love. To love the unlovely, to be a friend for the unfriendly, to be patient with the wayward, and to be present for anyone who needs someone. I do not take that call lightly. However, please don’t take this to mean my practice of ministry is wishy-washy, feel-good pablum. I believe the Bible means what it says, so my goal is to teach the Bible—honestly, fully, and faithfully.” –Pastor Ken
